Umbrella payroll
We employ the contractor, pay them through PAYE and invoice the agency for their assignment rate. Standard or Platinum.
Suits temporary and contract workers placed by agencies.
CIS payroll
Construction Industry Scheme payments and deductions for genuinely self-employed subcontractors. Standard or Platinum.
Suits construction work, after an employment status check.
PAYE payroll
Weekly, fortnightly, four-weekly or monthly payroll with RTI, pensions and statutory pay handled.
Suits agencies and employers who stay the employer.
PEO solutions
We become the legal employer and run the HR: holiday pay, sickness, onboarding, offboarding and employment tribunals. KC Rewards+ included.
Suits growing agencies and businesses that want employment handled.
Payroll bureau
End-to-end payroll processing, payslips, year-end and pension administration, under your brand if you need it.
Suits businesses and accountancy practices.

Who carries the risk now.
- Since 6 April 2026, if an umbrella company does not pay the correct PAYE, HMRC can recover it from the recruitment agency that contracts with the end client.
- Where there is no agency in the chain, HMRC can recover it from the end client.
- It covers income tax, student loan repayments and employee and employer National Insurance. Checks and accreditations reduce the risk, but they do not remove the liability.

See every pound before you start.
An honest estimate: employer costs come out first, then tax, National Insurance, pension and student loan.
Assumptions. 2026/27 rates and thresholds, calculated on a non-cumulative basis for a single pay period. Assumes you have opted out of the workplace pension, so no employee or employer pension contributions are shown. Holiday pay is funded from the assignment rate and forms part of gross pay. Results are estimates; your actual payslip may differ.
About CIS. CIS deductions are advance payments towards your tax and National Insurance bill, not necessarily your final tax. You settle the balance, or claim a refund, through your Self Assessment return. CIS applies only to genuinely self-employed subcontractors doing construction work; we check employment status before anyone is paid under CIS.
More than payroll. More value every day.
KC Rewards+ gives workers everyday savings and wellbeing support. It comes with Umbrella Platinum and CIS Platinum for £2.50 a week more than Standard, charged only in weeks you work, and is included as standard with our PEO service. Members also get free entry into our cash prize draw.
